An Orientation and Casting Session will be held June 28, 6:30 – 8:30 PM at A Magical Journey Thru Stages. At the meeting, students will have a chance to sing a song or two, receive their scripts, tour the theater, and make some new friends. Parents should plan to stay for this informative, fun evening.

Performers entering Grades 4 – 8.
No prior experience necessary. This program is for everyone who wants to explore their talents on stage acting, singing and dancing. This Junior version of the show is written to benefit student performers. It will be a fun, energetic program to push your performing skills to a new level.
The Story:
In this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza, Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (“Ragtime,” “Once On This Island”) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination–Jojo.
The story centers around Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double challenge–not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, the only one who recognizes “his kind and his powerful heart.” Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry.
Cost: $440 (a second child in the same camp $420) Program fee includes camp tee shirt, 4 complimentary show tickets and cast party.

Registration: Due with $100 deposit by June 11, 2011, remainder due 1 week prior to start of Camp. Please note: This camp is filled on a first come, first served basis.
