PIT ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS for West Side Story

Stages is putting together the pit for the upcoming production of West Side Story and we are looking for talented student musicians.

PIT ORCHESTRA Auditions March 30, 2012
Students in Grades 9 – 12, college students ok, too
Performs May 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20

EASY AS 1, 2, 3:


1. Musicians (and parents of minors) — please review WSS Pit Audition Instructions and PIT Conflict Calendar WSS before requesting appointment.

2. Request an appointment by emailing Amanda Meldrum <damandab81@gmail.com> or calling 585-290-5638.  In your email, specify name, age, grade level, instrument(s), phone #, which date and hour you prefer (5PM – 6PM, 6PM – 7PM).  You will receive email/call with your appointment time.

3. Print off and complete both the Volunteer Form & PIT Conflict Calendar WSS and bring them to your audition with a resume (if available).

Conflict Calendar

We understand many families have busy lives.  The success of each show depends on team players making rehearsals a priority so the show can move forward.   The Conflict Calendar is a tool to indicate which rehearsals you are NOT available for.  

Be sure to check your school calendar for trips to D.C., concert/recitals you are required to attend, Area All-State, All-County, Solo-Fest, confirmation, prom, homecoming, etc.  Directors may schedule around minimal conflicts.  Only a limited number of emergency conflicts may be added without affecting your ability to stay in your part or in the orchestra.  You must be available for all mandatory rehearsals and performances.  PLEASE BE HONEST.
