    Audition Information for "PIPPIN"

    A Magical Journey Thru Stages is performing "PIPPIN." This anachronistic fairy tale of a young prince searching for the secret of true happiness and fulfillment will be directed appropriately for high school students. We appreciate your interest in our show and invite you to audition.

    Please note: The original taped production starring Ben Vareen was directed with mature audiences in mind. Please be aware of the content if you choose to allow your child to view it before the audition.

    At UpStage3, Auditorium Center, 3rd Floor, 875 East Main Street, Rochester

    CAST:

    Teens 13-19 years old who love musical theater.

    Please memorize one of the following songs and be familiar with all of them.

    FEMALE: MAGIC TO DO, SPREAD A LITTLE SUNSHINE & KIND OF WOMAN

    CALLBACKS:

    Held same day - Saturday, August 29, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

    Emails will be sent for casting on Monday August 31, 2009

    REHEARSALS:

    Please view Pippin Conflict sheet for a list of rehearsals and performances.

    Attendance at rehearsals is of the utmost importance to achieve the highest caliber show possible. This intensive rehearsal period requires a commitment from the entire cast. If a cast member misses more then two rehearsals they will be asked to leave the production. Cast members are not permitted to miss ANY performances or mandatory rehearsals.

    DIRECTOR'S BIO

    Amanda is excited to be making her directing debut at STAGES, although new to this particular venue Amanda has been teaching and directing teens in various productions for the past five years. Amanda Ladwig has been performing as a professional actress and singer in musical theatre for 15 years and was an active member of the Actors Equity Association for eleven years before retiring to home educate her children. Amanda has performed as Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Maria in West Side Story and many other productions around the United States. She has studied under fabulous teachers from The Julliard School of Drama and Music as well as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In the summer of 2008, Amanda was the finalist considered for a principle role in the Broadway Production of "Pride and Prejudice" created by two local writers. She currently works at local professional theatres in upstate New York, most recently performed the role of Belle for the third time in her career, this time for the Rochester Children’s Theatre.
