Gala Event
Throughout the past nine years, A Magical Journey Thru Stages has been providing extraordinary theatrical experiences for youth in our community. Participants have the opportunity to encounter, first-hand, all aspects of theatrical production on stage and behind the scenes. All this, while of course building friendships and networks in the area. Over the past two years, we have expanded our production level to a full season of shows (three musicals, two dramas), and this summer we have added formal educational classes and seminars to our offerings.
Our added productions and educational content are already proving a tremendous success – often selling out performances and causing us to create waiting lists for would-be participants. While our space on the 3rd floor of the Auditorium Center is adequate, the 1920’s construction presents challenges. We have successfully overcome many of these situations, but finding solutions has become an ongoing trend.
This fall (September 16 and 17), our professional educators, board members and adult advisors have chosen to reverse roles with our students. We will be presenting an evening of theatre with the adults as performers! We will be hosting an auction at each performance, featuring a number of baskets comprised of local goods and services. Unlike most productions at Stages, our limited overhead for this event provides a wonderful opportunity to raise money for our organization through ticket and auction sales.
